Here it is. 1987. Twenty years ago. Not exactly a date, but I don't know what else to call it. Later on that evening I confessed to The Future Mom that I was seeing someone else. Then she confessed to me that she was wearing the dress her grandmother had asked to be buried in.
If that's not worth a few more votes, I'm not sure what what is.
Wow. It's like you guys were each other's density.
Nice tie, Alex P. Keaton.

Oh yeah, it's all about the tie. But it's not JUST Alex Keaton - there's a little Rick Springfield in there too.

Hey Huey, where's the rest of the News?
Posted by: Mr. Pubin | April 18, 2007 at 12:44 PM
Hey, The Mom, Barbara Bush called. She wants her outfit back.
And I must say, you are way hotter now.

I say very cute. One day your girls will put this picture in their house. Just like I have of my parents! (My dad looked a lot like Tony Orlando. So I'm told. I have no clue who that is.) And yes, yours will be saying "Alex P. Keaton was dad's muse. Who is Alex P. Keaton?"
And WOW do the twins look like their mom!

Hey! Instead of poetry, your next contest could be "Who's Got the Worst Photo of Themselves from the 80's?" I'll volunteer to be on the judging panel if you bribe me with martinis...
Posted by: Jennifer | April 18, 2007 at 01:48 PM
You both look fantastic. That's a great picture!
Posted by: Natalie | April 18, 2007 at 03:05 PM
I'm suddenly feeling WAY old, given (1) I wanted to date Rick Springfield, but more because (2) Abby doesn't know who Tony Orlando was. Pass the prunes and Metamucil, someone.
Posted by: Diane | April 18, 2007 at 03:16 PM
I think it's a sweet picture. Voted for all the catagories. Good luck.

Mullet!
Posted by: Swamper | April 18, 2007 at 03:55 PM
You got my vote! (I too am depressed that Abby didn't know who Tony Orlando was...OR Alex P. Keaton!)

You two look happy together, and ain't that a great thing to keep all these years!!
Posted by: Petunia | April 18, 2007 at 06:33 PM
Daaaaaayuuuuum! That is one sweet '80s pic.
Posted by: zhanae | April 18, 2007 at 08:50 PM
Alex Keaton? Tony Orlando? Rick Springfield? Who are these people???
And I must say, except for the skinny tie and the mullet, you were pretty hot! Good call, The Mom.

That took balls. Fortunately for me The Goon Squad's father and I only go back about 10 years, so we don't have anything this dated yet.

Mullets Rule!
ps - I voted, and left an encouraging message for others...vote for 'LD' or I'll break your knee caps. Good luck.

Seriously, I think I've seen The Mom before. Do you have a twin in Wisconsin?
The Dad: When's the reunion tour? I'd like tickets.
Posted by: Loren | April 18, 2007 at 11:50 PM
What, the MOM has nothing to say? I think I'd have a comment if the Mr. posted a picture like that of us.
I mean, a beautiful, timeless picture like that. Yep, that's what I mean!

It's amazing how you can see something so often and yet not really see it... I saw you two nearly every day around that time, and I never realized you had a mullet, The Dad!
Just for the record, where was that pic taken?
Posted by: The Godfather | April 19, 2007 at 08:36 AM
Well, the hair's the ticket...Brings back some memories.. But all of y'all make me feel decrepit... In '87 I was already married and had one kid under my belt.
What was that group from Scotland that sang
S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y! Geez, I'm so old I can't even remember their name...But anyway, that's what comes to mind when I look at this pic.
I'll go take my Geritol now and hang out with Art Linkleiter.

Wow! That's a blast from the past! I love it!!! Thanks for sharing. '87 was the year I graduated high school. I had the big sprial permed hair and tried to dress like Madonna. (What was I thinking???) It seems like it was eons ago.
