Ice for twenty minutes, then heat for twenty minutes. Ice for twenty minutes, then heat for twenty minutes.
Apparently there is such a thing as a "cortisone flare." This is when, for reasons that I cannot begin to understand, a cortisone shot designed to relieve joint inflammation crystallizes instead.
They last for a few days, those millions of sharp little crystals and, according to my wife, rank a 7.5 on the 1 to 10 pain scale when injected into your knee. They are also how my wife spent her Mother's Day.
And the parade of laughs continues...
Jesus H. Christ!!! What did you guys do that was so terrible to piss off the gods???

Poor Mom! I've had a few of those shots. Thankfully, they rocked for a month. I didn't know that they can cause problems like that. I was just about to make myself an appt. to get some more. I really hope it gets better soon! (((Hugs)))

It's time to come clean, The Dad. You have obviously done something very bad to Karma, and Karma, as we well know, is a bitch. Confess now, The Dad. How much longer should your poor family suffer?
(Hope The Mom feels better soon. Is 7.5 more or less than giving birth to twins?)

Thank God I don't live in Jersey near you two. What have you done to bring these plagues upon your house? I mean really; you’ve had Flooding, Vampirism, Body Integrity Identity Disorder, and Swollen Knee. When do the Hail, Boils, Locusts, Darkness, Lice and Frogs show up? Please let me know so I can leave the Tri-State area for that week. Sorry The Mom - Hope you feel better soon!

I'm sorry this curse has beplagued your home, and I hope that knee feels better soon. Maybe try rubbing some arnica on it. Or Windex.

"Ice for twenty minutes, then heat for twenty minutes. Ice for twenty minutes, then heat for twenty minutes."
I detect an alarming absence of Vicodin in this regimen. Feel better, The Mom.

So sorry to hear this! Hope The Mom feels better soon. It almost sounds like artificially created gout!

Yikes that sounds awful. I'm sorry The Mom and I really hope The Dad pampered you all day. Hope it feels better soon and I really do hope they gave you some good drugs to help with the pain or at least render you numb to the chaos that seems to be alive in your house.
