Who's idea was it to separate the heads from the barbies? That is the real question!!! Scary!! And what does one do with a plethora of Barbie heads...wait, I don't want to know the answer!!

Oh, think of the fun to be had with those left over Barbie heads....I'm thinking holiday gifts, like tree ornaments, finger puppets, earrings for Grandma....!

Man, I wish I had been invited. Sounds like I'd laugh my head off. :D

OHMYGOSH, I love it! My roommate and I would have huge Halloween parties every year, complete with brain gelatin molds, eyeball mints, and various severed body parts. I even made a kitty litter cake.

It's good that they don't fear death. They'd rather eat it. :)

RE: Toothfairy
BTDT. Next night Tooth Fairy left a cool note written with a silver sharpie on a glitter-sprayed card saying that she had been so sick last night she could not come get the lost baby tooth, but was all better tonight. She left the usual $, plus a sparkly tube of lip balm.
HTH,
BETH

Can somone decode Beth's comment? Was it even meant as a comment to this specific post?

I love the eyeball cupcakes and the severed finger cookies. Kathryn and The Mom rock!!!

You didn't really give them each a headless barbie did you?? That was just written for dramatic effect right?

Laura, Beth's comment was in regard to my twitter message that the toothfairy forgot to visit Kathryn last night. I'll write a full post about it soon, I'm sure.

I can't tell exactly what those cookies are supposed to be. They look kind of obscene, though. But in a good way.

That is awesome! What a lucky birthday girl (and what a cool mommy!)

Awe. Some. !!!

Does Kathryn still prefer the Beast over Beauty, too?

I had a finger cookie and it was AWESOME! The Mom totally rocks in the baking department. And Kathryn totally rocks in the theme department!

What, no luau this year?! The month of July is completely wasted on that girl. She should have been born in one of the darker months, like February, when there's always a high risk of having the party snowed out. There's also more uses for headless Barbies in February.

I think the larger question is: Were they delicious?

And: Are there leftovers?

OK, I have to know. Sue--why are there more uses for headless Barbies in February?

The Mom's got style. Tell her that next year's party favors should include these: http://www.shadowmanor.com/blog/?p=101

And Sue, you can combine the luau-spook theme. Oriental Trading has "haunted luau" merchandise, which is just ridiculously weird: http://www.orientaltrading.com/

Top three uses for headless Barbies in February: 3)You can burn them for heat 2)You can use them to stir your hot cocoa 1)You can throw them under your wheels for traction when it's icy

I'm also quite confused by the haunted luau theme. Is it haunted by the ghost of the pig?

Just thank your lucky stars that you didn't have to listen to the SpongeBob theme song fifty times in a row, like the last b-day party I went to. I'd take severed fingers and a few years of child therapy any day!

Love the goodies, The Mom is one talented lady. Would have loved seeing the kids' faces when they opened their goodie bags, hilarious!

This explains why, when I let Kathryn choose the placement of the candles on my twins' Elmo birthday cakes she chose "in his eyeballs." Now I get it.

Your daughter's a girl after my own heart.
